Principal Investigator
Dr. Ana S. Ramírez

Ana obtained her Diploma in Chemistry and Master's degree in Biochemistry from the National University of Colombia. She moved to Frankfurt, where she completed her PhD in Biology at Goethe University. Following that, she joined the group of Kaspar Locher at ETH-Zurich where she investigated the structure and mechanism of glycosyltransferases involved in protein N-glycosylation.

Since August 1, 2024, she has been part of the CCRC as an assistant professor.
Graduate Students
Mahboobeh Faraminlashkarian

Mahboobeh earned her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Gonbad Kavous University and her M.Sc. in Genetics from the Islamic Azad University. She joined the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology PhD program as a graduate research assistant in our lab in January 2025.

David O. Harris

David earned his B.S. in Biochemistry with a Minor in Chemistry and his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech. He joined the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology PhD program as a graduate research assistant in our lab in January 2026.

Pari Sharma

Pari is a third-year Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major with a minor in Biomedical Physiology at the University of Georgia. ​She joined the lab in August 2024.
Kailey Maine

Kailey is a second-year pre-medical student majoring in Biology and Psychology at the University of Georgia. She joined the lab in January 2026.
